Firearms Possession and Professionals

Most of you understand that when you get convicted of a felony you lose your right to possess firearms, both under Arizona and Federal law (under federal law you can’t possess ammunition either). But what people don’t understand is that many people charged with misdemeanor infractions involving domestic violence also lose their right to carry or possess firearms under either Arizona or federal law. Sometimes forever.

This means that if you are a law enforcement officer, a military enlistee or an A-10 pilot you’ve got to be careful about this. And yes, this means all you Border Patrol Agents. The net effect unfortunately is that many of you may lose your jobs right away. If you haven’t, we surely want to help you work it out, so that when the case is over you can go back to it.
